It’s been a couple years since the pandemic first shook our world and pulled the foundation out from under our feet, forcing us outside of our comfort zone without warning. We suddenly found ourselves in unfamiliar territory without a playbook, with no choice but to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, and do our best to adapt to what has become known as the “new normal.”

Since then, our strength and resilience have been tested numerous times as chaos has run amok in all directions, disrupting our economy, our social life, our daily routines, our standards of living, our families, our schools and our sense of safety and security.

Nevertheless we persisted, knowing in our hearts that the storm can not last forever, that eventually this too shall pass… knowing in due time the fog will lift and the sun will come out to shine another day.

As we approach the last quarter of 2022, we welcome a new season of change and renewal, both literally and figuratively. There is a transition of time and temperature, as the cooler air provides relief from the oppressive summer heat and shorter days prepare us to “Fall back” into the darkness of the upcoming Season of Wither.

There is a lull in social activity as kids begin their new school year, just in time for parents to increase their income-producing activities, seeking overtime hours and side gigs in anticipation of a cold economic winter. As we…
